Meet Dr. Molly Housley Smith

Dr. Molly Housley Smith is the founder, lab director, and lead pathologist at Bluegrass Oral Pathology in Lexington, KY, providing highly personalized, compassionate diagnostic services. While she is deeply dedicated to serving her roots in Southeast Kentucky, she proudly extends her expertise to patients and clinicians across all 50 states, welcoming complex and challenging cases.

Dr. Smith served as Division Chief of the Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Division at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry from 2018 to 2021. Prior to launching Bluegrass Oral Pathology, she worked in a large oral pathology biopsy service at Pathology & Cytology Laboratories in Lexington.

An active lecturer, she has presented extensively on oral pathology at both national and international meetings and continues to provide didactic instruction for dental residents across multiple training programs. Dr. Smith has authored numerous publications in the field and currently serves as a section editor for the Journal of the American Dental Association, as well as for the widely used online reference PathologyOutlines.com.
